NEW POSTING 2026: Tree Climber / Aerial Tree Surgeon

📍 Cork City & County 📋 Full-time, Permanent 📅 February 2026

We are seeking experienced and safety-conscious Tree Climbers to join our growing team. This is a hands-on role involving aerial tree surgery, machinery operation, and daily physical work across varied sites throughout County Cork.

The Role

As a Tree Climber with Cork Tree Services, you'll carry out a wide range of arboricultural work to a high standard, working as part of a close-knit team. The role involves physical exertion, working at height, and operating specialist equipment daily.

Key duties include:

Performing climbing and aerial tree surgery operations
Operating chainsaws, chippers, and other arborist equipment safely
Tree maintenance including pruning, crown reduction, and removals
Tree and shrub planting
Conducting tree inspections and hazard assessments
Working collaboratively with ground crew and site managers
Ensuring site safety for colleagues and the public
Care and maintenance of plant and machinery
Representing the company professionally with clients on site

Requirements

✓ Essential

Valid Safe Pass certificate
Manual Handling certificate
Full driving licence
NPTC Level 2 Ground-based chainsaw operator
NPTC Level 2 Tree climbing and aerial rescue
NPTC Level 3 Aerial cutting with chainsaw
(free-fall techniques)
NPTC Level 2 Safe use of manually fed woodchipper
Strong work ethic and commitment to safety

+ Desirable

B+E licence or tractor experience
MEWP (cherry picker) ticket
First Aid training
(Forestry First Aid preferred)
Knowledge of tree species and disease identification
Previous experience in arboriculture
